level sensor not working

Posted by jpotter at May 20. 2010

I have a controller with a level sensor that works by a float making a connection. It has been set for just over a year to low/high, to activate when low, to run a minimum of 30 sec and a max of 45 min. Now even though the level is high, and this is recognized as high by the control panel display as well as being visually apparent by the sump water level, the ATO stays running until the system automatically blocks.

There is no calcium or other build up on the sensor.

I am confused as if the control panel indicates the level as high where is it getting that information if not from the level sensor. If the level sensor is informing the control panel why is it not informing the ATO pump plug to shut off? If I manually stop the ATO pump via the computer screen (on/off/restore) the pump shuts off. However when I click restore the pump continues to run even though the level is high in the sump and the level sensor is correctly placed in the sump with no obstruction or interference.

guidance as to how to resolve this would be appreciated.

PS I have cleaned the sensor, repositioned the sensor and removed and replaced the sensor probe line vis its' connection to the controller..all with no good effect.

If possible please also send any response to jannepotter@gmail.com

Thx
