i have two tanks both tanks with separate controllers and sms modules. before the new firmware the only problem the sms modules had was a very poor signal, being if i put any one of my three mobiles next to the module it show full signal but the sms is one bar.

anyway i did the new firmware update when it was released and everything was installed properly. now my sms module gives me bus error, disconnected, no signal, and those are the ones i remember. i have tried to send 'info' to the sms module and 99% of the time it does not work.

i spent the entire day with the tech guy that deals with all my tanks trying to solve this problem but it looks like the sms module just gets worst with the new upgrade. we tried with a new module he brought with that has the firmware version 0.5, we didn't upgrade the firmware, and everything works, except the extremely bad signal problem. today i had an sms module from another product just to test to see about the signal problem, and the other product worked with full signal.

i found out that all his other clients that have purchaced the sms module are also having the same problems and they are also using different providers and in very different areas.

After both himself and his supplier spent the entire day trying to get hold of the support staff at aquatronica to find out what is going on, neither one of them could not get hold of anyone.

these modules are very expensive, being in south africa almost R5000, and to think i have two. you are to believe these modules are used to give you an early warning if something happens to your tanks, my advice is NOT to purchace these modules untill aquatronica get into gear and fix all the problems and also to fix the lack of signal.

myself and the other clients of my tech guy are very close to returning all the sms modules and having a full refund due to false advertising and inadequate units being sold.

if aquatronica is going to try to be a competitive product they should start paying attention and stop trying to sell expensive products without testing them properly, on both the hardware and software sides.

now after i got all that of my chest i hope people will refrain from buying this poorly designed product (sms module) and wait to see it aquatronica finally do something to fix it.

The last SMS update fixed a problem with the different SIMs we have all around the world, I tested it with the Italian's SIMs and were ok.

You updated the SMS FW 1.2?

all my problems started when i updated to the new firmware 1.2.

is there a way to downgrade everything to the previous firmware and software?

i have not sent an email but my tech guy has sent various email to them about the same problems.

after talking to tech support they gave me instuctions on how to reupdate the smsm module and everything is working better now.

there are still problems but it is working better.

after installing the new update, it looks like most of my problems are fixed. the only problem is the poor signal problem.
